Purchased The Definitive Guide and need Help
Hello, I purchased the definitive guide and followed it perfectly, well, so I think. But I need help. Two things are happening when I record in 4k with my 5090 and my AMD 9950x3d I drop frames and when I stream to youtube horizontal at 4k I drop frames. Can someone help me figure out which setting is causing this? I didn't think with a 5090 and a AMD 9950x3d i would have any issues. Thanks in advance

If you can post an OBS log or run one through this and share that it would be helpful https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Stream to Twitch, YouTube and many other providers or record your own videos with high quality H264 / AAC encoding.
we need more info. settings. screenshots etc
the rest of your specs
Okay on it. Thanks
Here is that

GG @Matt (Big Puffin), you just advanced to level 1 !
those last two info. encode overload and plugins what are those

here is the latest one
okay its not your hardware. its your network now. go to testmynet and do the upload speed test.

is that why my encoder is 30% overloaded
hmm
can you directly send the log or if you want send your obs settings instead
is this what you need
you have varying mixed frame rates here with 4 different monitors. my suggestion is to move any non gaming monitor to the amd motherboard video inputs so it can utilize the amds igpu so the 5090 has full power to record. having similar refresh rates could help normally its 60hz, 120hz etc. i think 240hz is fine but no clue about 360 but they are all divisible by 60.
i dont see recording settings here though. can you get your obs output tab settings screenshot both streaming and recording tabs

here is streaming and recording settings
is that the motherboard inputs like hdmi and such not directly plugged into the gpu
this is where you need to optimize settings as set by the guide. just tuning to work with every single game etc. I saw warzone in there in your logs. that game just doesnt play well on single pc regardless. they are also having pc performance problems since season 4 released currently. are you sure the dropped frames is not just the game.
yes
Yeah its not the game. They fixed it. Also when I was steaming vertical I didn't drop frames at all on tiktok or youtube shorts. I wonder if its because its 4k and I need to go to 1440p
just streaming vertical or doing both at once
because AV1 isnt support on tiktok. just youtube. twitch isnt available yet but is being worked on
Yeah I just stream to youtube and tikok
GG @Matt (Big Puffin), you just advanced to level 2 !
tiktok
you have 8 encode sessions to work with on the 5090. you will have to play around setting wise. what quality settings would work. so you can do youtube stream, vertical stream and tiktok stream all at once but you have to find out the settings that will work.
Okay sounds good
you have the network bandwidth so 25000 for youtube is already fine can go higher if you wanted but not needed
Sorry I was on a show when you emailed me
So I would definitely drop from P7 on any instances that have it.
I also noticed on the email logs that you might have had separate encoder sessions for TikTok and YouTube vertical maybe? If so just have your multistream tool use the same encoder for each
Which would require HEVC instead of AV1, but that’s fine
And again, not at P7. Stick to P5 probably
no worries yeah on this encodes for vertical I just left it as list vertical encoder but didn't actually check what it was using.
Okay I will make those changes and follow up.
Appreciate you
