tshirt sizing

now that i have a job i have the funds to actually pick up the tshirts i talked about a few months ago. the brands on my radar are tezomeya and whitesville. what i’m confused about is sizing - im 5,6 about 150lbs, i wear Uniqlo M or L tshirts prefer L, the oversized ones are strictly M. i checked sizing charts and tbe tezomeya put me at 185 for similar size to uniqlo and XL for the whitesville but that seems too different. i saw some yt vids and people seem to be buying more appropriate sizes so im confused af wat do i do

Tees I'm honestly surprised when you shouldn't go TTS unless you're really going for something super oversized or super small. Even then the tees are usually designed that way so something that's supposed to be oversized will fit big in a medium. I'd just buy your usual size and see what happens. Any particular reason you're not sticking with qlo tees?

i still own my uniqlo tees and i love them, just wanna try more things usual size just seems really tiny… i typically go with something flowy cause im a little rotund and the drape hides the belly maybe ur right and buy L

eg this one, this guy is almost 6ft tall and he buys L the sleeves look short to me but in the video he says he prefers things to be more fitted and the neck hole to be smaller cause the gap between ur neck and the shirt looks bad idk im discombobulated

Tees come in a lot of different cuts. If you like the qlo ones I’d just stick with them unless you want a specific look

sometimes you find the right thing on the first attempt, it happens assuming you aren't gonna go broke there's no harm in trying out other brands - measure the uniqlo tee (length, width at the armpit seam) and compare those measurements to the size chart of some other brand to get a ballpark on what size to get. it might be TTS, or it might not, but the goal is for it to fit how you want

yeah but i feel like for something as basic as a tshirt, there’s nothing to be gained by spending more and more money. the japanese place has nice colors and tie dyes but the other ones are white or color ways that uniqlo has. what i was a little disappointed by was the kirkland shirts, the white ones have kind of degraded a bit since i bought them. not as white, and a bit… idk not rly keeping shape? maybe that’s just white tshirts in general i’m just using the uniqlo M as ballpark for a good fit at the moment since i think it’s the correct size for me if i lose like 2 kilos

like literally anything else in fashion there are a variety of reasons why someone would choose to spend more money than u believe to be reasonable on any one garment. Its all subjective. My fav tees rn are $50 per. The cut and thickness are exactly what I want, so it's not a difficult decision for me to make. End of the day it's always going to be your decision.

what’s your favorite tee by more and more money i meant like upwards of 60-70 per. i think under that is fine, but without trying one i think fitting is risky and there is no reason to overcomplicate it if i’m satisfied with uniqlo

The reality of fashion is you have to go out on a limb sometimes maybe even all the time

Take Bronson for example. They have extremely accurate size charts for their tees. You can measure your Uniqlo tee that you like and compare, that will help.

ironically enough my favorite non vintage t-shirt is a kirkland blank lol. i typically wear old graphic tees because of the graphic first, then whatever properties are present in the shirt; your tastes will vary. if you're trying things out then you have to embrace the fact that things won't turn always end up exactly how you want as that's probably when you learn the most. find places with good return policies is my take

sort of related, i am investing a significant amount of time looking for nice second hand shirts on poshmark, cause i feel like half sleeve shirts are kind of “solved” for me i feel comfortable blind buying those

sort of related here i would encourage buying slow and more specifically buy slow so that you can actually take the time to wear these things you're asking about - seeing how they feel on you, seeing how you go about the day in them, organically finding item pairings, etc

listen to zoe. don’t buy a bunch of shit just to buy it measure the tees you own and like and use that to inform the clothes you buy next.

You are correct about the measurements on Whitesville tees: I usually wear a M or L tee, but I would get a XXL if I wanted a Whitesville. It’s not the cut I want so I never have tried them though.
