Pregen ETA extremely long

Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X RAM: 32GB Allocated 10GB of RAM ETA is 48hrs with my LOD Chunk Render distance radius of 256, yet its loading over 400,000 chunks and the eta is a lot longer than I would've assumed considering I have a relatively fast CPU and a lot of RAM. I have c2me,noisium and fastrandom (through fabric-forge connector sinytra), and am running this on a modpack on curseforge (CABIN) with JJThunderToTheMax terrain generation mod. is it the terrain mod that is making my ETA so high, or should I allocated more RAM? I've seen online that for most people it takes hours, but usually its just overnight, so I'm not sure what the issue is for me. Would appreciate any help.

also, just noticed that the chunk count is going up occasionally is it not just a radius around the centre of the map?

Jjthunder is like 16x as heavy as vanilla

ahh i suppose that makes sense, i do want to have huge terrain so i'll just turn down my render distance for now and load a small amount, then ill turn it back up tommorow but set the cpu load to 1 or 2 and just play while it generates lods

If you want tall mountains you can try tectonic and enable the increased height in its config file, that will make the max height 640 or something like that And it will be a lot faster than JJThunder

on 1.20.1 forge so i cant use tectonic although i suppose i could try since i'm using sinytra for fastrandom

Tectonic is a datapack that is also packaged as mod i think

yeah i sort of just want to get large-scale terrain gen i.e big mountains and huge, slightly hilly plains and nice flat areas for building structures

But yea this is what I would recommend if you want some speed with generation Its heavier than vanilla, but not by a huge amount

also, would it be fine to increase my RAM allocated?

And you could also add terralith ontop of it

or even impactful

Does it ever go above 90% in the F3 menu
fishy
fishyOP2d ago
no, its been 70-80% but it says its using 100% when i look in task manager would that work with the modpack i'm using since the modpack has its own custom biomes already?

Skillnoob_2d ago
Then you don't need to increase the ram

okay chcers

I've used tectonic + terralith + biomes o plenty in a 300+ mod modpack where there were some custom extra biomes and it worked fine

Probably go do some checks if the generation isn't messed up in a creative world

yeah, i'm doing a creative world anyway just making huge contraptions and factories with create thought i'd make it look nice while i'm at it this looks amazing, and my ETA is less than an hour for 64 chunks distance i have 20K chunks to load though which confuses me since 64 chunks render distance would mean its a 128 diameter, but its loading 8k more chunks than the area of the circle

The area is a square
