I just this one issue with this for now… Maybe I’m sleepy so I might have made a mistake too I don’t think I have though @hardcoreisdead 3 kaise aa raha hai iska tumhara? I guess it does but I feel like there’s some issue with this Why am I getting 1 mole less than you in each case? Either I’m deranged or there’s something wrong with this whole thing 😭 Bhai mujhe anxiety de ke gayab ho jaata hai 😭

(Some credits to GPT and stack exchange) So the thing is…. There is a competition Between substitution and elimination And at vigorous conditions (higher temperatures), elimination product is favoured So basically you could use this in each of those reactions Kinda not in the condition to draw out the whole mechanism so as to how this works All I can say is though, this shit won’t happen usually We alright now? @hardcoreisdead
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
so the given answers correct?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
In a way yes I won’t say you would find that happening in lab conditions usually But as JEE is…. These people don’t care about that
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
tbh not bothered JEE is JEE exactly
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Fair enough
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
should i close?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
So basically this could happen
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
few people had some doubts ig @Sephrina @Augustine
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
You understood how this would work mechanistically though right? It won’t be I2 ka direct elimination Rather non classical carbocation se jayega
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
your mechanism is just speculation tho right?

The dihalide will not form It isn’t I’ve verified There are evidences to back it up The dihalide isn’t as unstable ki it would spontaneously break down like that If the dihalide forms, then it stays BUT… the dihalide won’t form in the first place if the temperature is high You getting me ya audio me explain Karun?
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
nah nah i get your point
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Nice Basically you use that analogy Halonium cation Vaali Halogenation of Alkenes
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
the thing is the way i do it is more rememberable cuz sir ne class mein bhi aise hi karaya tha
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
I just told you the way it actually happens
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
but yeah dihalide will not form so ill try to proceed through actual mechanism
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
‘cause Jo tumne ya rather tumhare sir ne kiya it’s not reasonable Yeah nice then ‘cause sidha I2 nikaalna makes no sense at all @Augustine @Sephrina This is how that “extra mole” is being used Ask if you still have any question on the DM or here if it’s not closed

Sephrina
Sephrina3mo ago
na na ik concept smaj aa jayega ache se

And understand it logically
Sephrina

merko lagra hai mera alc utna acha nhi hua hai ill do redo it
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Yeah vo to hai Ngl this thing I bothered about this today only As @hardcoreisdead said I always used to skip this reaction 'cause it never made sense
Sephrina
Sephrina3mo ago
i didnt evn skip

Varun_Arora3mo ago
Aaj thoda open mind se samjha
Sephrina
