Why isn't energy conservation working

Collision means you have to apply the angle condition right? Your equation is right. It gives you the final velocity in the y direction (along field basically)

final velocity toh zero hui na

? Kaise?

CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
we have to provide just enough velocity to let the electron move against the electric field between the plates and escape after covering vertical distance d1 tell me why it shouldnt be zero

That's v_x minimum to be precise. Because I put in the boundary condition Also, don't mind the handwriting

given ans is twice of yours

this half is not needed

also the electron is projected midway so d1/2 instead of d1 i got the ans this way too but wanted to explore energy conservation method how to do using COME

Hmm energy conservation should work here Lemme see Velocity nikal lo net na Y direction ki bhi velocity aaegi And x mein to hai hi Baaki to Sahi lag rha h mujhe 🤔

haan in 2 ques maths me 93 💀 messed up in maths 😭
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP3mo ago
93 is big W dude COME wont work since initial velocity is along x axis . since theres no accn along x axis it will remain same . all the change in potential energy will go towards increasing velocity in y axis is of no use to me right ? @Opt

Imine3mo ago
you would have to eqeate e(change in V) = 1/2m(velocity in y axis at end of plate)...and this velocity would have to be accn*t and t would have to be calc from vel in x axis, a ...which would be similar to whats done above
