MangoHUD/Zenergy Does not seem to report the wattage on Ryzen 9700X
When trying to get MangoHUD to report the CPU wattage of my Ryzen 7 9700x, I am met with 0.0W on MangoHUD. In my searches, I saw this had something to do with needing zenergy, and so I sought to install zenergy, as this seemed to be touted as the be-all end-all solution to the issue. Upon trying to install it I was informed by Bazzite that zenergy is, in fact, installed already, and up to date no less. When I try to run
My PC is:
Ryzen 7 9700x
ASUS ROG Strix b850-i Gaming ITX motherboard
32 GB (2 x 16 GB) Crucial PRO Series DDR 5 6000 MT/s
PowerColor Reaper 9060XT 16GB
Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD (Main drive)
Samsung 970 Plus 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD (game drive)
modprobe zenergy, however, it states that zenergy does not exist. When installed, Goverlay does not seem to be able to enable the wattage reading, and the chmod thing where you tell the energy_uj file fix does not work either. At this point, I accepted I was in over my head and asked two Linux-knowing friends for help who collectively said "we got nothing, ask the bazzite team." Is my CPU too new, or am I missing a motherboard setting thing somewhere? Any direction is welcome at this point. i've had no luck with either the KDE build or GNOME build of bazzite (not that it would change much but that kinda shows how in over my head I am)My PC is:
