Evaluating 8K HDMI Matrix 4x2 (or greater) capabilities for setup
Hey all 🙂 I'm evaluating the purchase of an HDFury VRROOM and I wanted to check my use-case to make sure that I'll be able to accomplish what I'm setting out to do.
Here's what my setup looks like:
Input:
- Xbox Series X
- PS5
- Nintendo Switch 2
- PS3
Output:
- PC with a 4k120Hz/VRR/HDR Capture Card (Still Researching/Reviewing Models)
- Samsung UN65JU7500 4K TV from 2015 (Future upgrade pending, but would like to make sure it is both backwards and forward compatible with new TV)
Currently, I'm using an EZCOO 4K60 4x2 HDMI Matrix to accomplish this goal, but I'm looking to kick it up a notch to expand functionality while also allowing me to push 4K120, HDR, VRR, etc as any of these game consoles may utilize with their current capabilities.
I'm mostly a little confused/concerned with the Outputs that the VRROOM seems to support, as each of the outputs seems a bit specialized and has me wanting to double check to make sure that everything will work as I expect it to. I really only need two of the Outputs here to work in this manner, so if there are extras that offer extra functionality that's great but not necessarily "in-scope" for my requirements 🙂
Basically, I'm looking to use the VRROOM as more of a Matrix with its souped up features, sure it may be overkill - but that's for me to decide really 😉
Lastly, I guess I'm a bit worried about the parity of my output devices and what that may mean for them. The 4K TV I have right now is definitely only 4K60, and I'm unsure of the HDMI version on this although I could check with doing some model number digging. Ideally, I'd like to have a way to make sure that the output can be sent to both the Capture Card PC and this TV, but I'm not sure what this may mean if the TV doesn't support 120 or VRR.
Appreciate any feedback or input on right-sizing for this setup, or if another product may better fit the bill. One of the key points as well is PS3 compatibility, hence the EZCOO.

OREI 8K eARC HDMI Matrix Switch 4 X 2, Switcher with Audio Extracto...
8K HDMI 4 input into 2 output Matrix Switcher with Audio Extractor through Optical Or Analog. This Device will not extract Audio through HDMI. NOTE: WILL NOT DOWNSCALE. Both output will have to support 8K. WILL NOT EXTRACT eARC for Soundbars.
you really dont need vrooom for its features unless you really do.
Sorry for the delay here, but thanks for the reply and feedback! Does this Matrix perform HDCP bypass?
