No stupid questions: why don't production companies just buy over existing games made using their IPs? I don't understand this. Why don't the production companies just buy over the game, ask for like 30/70 split of earnings, let them keep the use of the names and labels, including models and identities, and have a team to oversee it's production so it complies with rules and the image of the production studio? Only argument I understand would be financial-wise, since it would be expensive to hirr multiple people and create new teams and all that. Also cuz they can't milk the game because they're free so it won't be entirely profitable, then again, it's fanservice for the community and can even keep the existing community happy and active. Also to add on, most of these games already have quality much higher than their existing official games. Case study: the Godzilla franchise. There isn't a SINGLE official godzilla game out there that sprouted culture or still holds relevancy today. Toho productions literally owns every single godzilla character. They never bothered making a good game for their fanbase to play as their favourite kaiju. Why punish small game developers NOW for making a free-access game with gamepasses that don't exceed $10? Why did they have to wipe Kaiju Online/Universe so many times despite the quality it had and the potential it posessed? Or even better, hire these people as part of the game production team and have them make better games on roblox. Do production companies not see the potential of a multiplayer open-world game on an active platform like Roblox? are they stupid? How many countless examples do we need to show that FREE, MULTIPLAYER PVP games are what succeed in the game market? It's very disappointing to see quality games get taken down because of greedy rich companies through "copyright". I hope this changes in the future with more opportunities for better games to be
