Drew FBD for when cube is not immersed and immersed Equate net force acting on cube to zero When not immersed N=mg When immersed with a height h above the cube, write expression for N' (in picture) N'=mg when h=0 (height of liq above cube) Fb=0 Which means we need to take the assumptions 1)block is just immersed 2) there is no liquid between cube and vessel so buoyant force is zero
