Permission denied when running Baldurs Gate 3 on Ubuntu 24.10

Hello,
I am trying to run Baldurs Gate 3 on ubuntu and am running into an issue with launching. When i click play the game goes from the state launching -> playing, and then just crashes. I am running Heroic via the AppImage (latest version), when the crash occurs the following can be seen in the (attached) log file:

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution

I believe the Flatpak version of Heroic should resolve this issue

Alternatively you can also install umu system-wide: https://github.com/Open-Wine-Components/umu-launcher/releases/latest
