Baldurs Gate 3 ( MacOS native ) doesnt work
This is a very popular and large game that is designed to run native on M series chips. Heroic won't launch the game, after clicking the button, it just thinks for about 10 sec then goes back to the default screen with no error message at all. Here is the log:

I already posted the full verbose log and only changed the username to protect my privacy.

What you posted is game log, no?
These are different

grumpy-cyan•2mo ago
Nothing more
But tbh i dont use Mac, so i just wanna make you post most info as possible so Mac people can come and look in right away
Instead of asking further logs

that
is not the native version of bg3(?)
looks to be that its running through wine
wait
wtf(???)
its trying to create a wine-crossover bottle with a native .app file i think ❓
no nevermind i just checked it just keeps your default wine-settings even when launching a .app without applying wine to the thing
optimistic-goldOP•2mo ago
Yeah I was confused when I saw wine in the log as well. here is the heroic and gog logs

I only have a couple games in heroic and they all run on native M series. I should not need any emulation layer, and prefer not to install Rosetta hence why I'm using heroic

interesting
can you fish the .app file out of
/Users/.../Games/Heroic/
?
and just open the app file and see if macos throws an erroroptimistic-goldOP•2mo ago
that is a 155GB application file on my disk, when I open it... nothing happens, no error, no app start
with my slowish internet it took over 2 days to install that. I still have half a mind to try a complete uninstall and reinstall although I do not even see how to do that in heroic. I need to run a couple errands, bbl

odd.
can you right click on the app file then hit "show package contents"?
then open contents, macos, and there should be like
2 terminal files named baldurs gate 3
try opening each of them and see if either one opens the game
optimistic-goldOP•2mo ago
ah finally some action, the terminal file 'Baldur's Gate 3 GOG' opened the Larian launcher
The game fully loads from that terminal file, and even offline which is what I want, still does not launch from Heroic, but it works and thats what counts
adverse-sapphire•2mo ago
what a weird problem that still hasnt been fixed wtf
i remember it being this way when it was released onto gog
adverse-sapphire•2mo ago
im not sure how the menu looks if its an apple silicon native game on gog, but if you can set an alternate exe, can you set it to that terminal file, jsut out of curiosity?

optimistic-goldOP•2mo ago
awesome, that did the trick. identified the correct terminal file as the alt exe and it launches from heroic just fine now. Thank you very much for the help.
My next task is get my other game from the epic store to actually run offline, I will open a new ticket for that though.
