Overcooked 2 crashing just seconds after launch
Hello everyone, I've been trying to play Overcooked 2 through Heroic.
I'm running Proton GE 9.21 and 10 and Proton Experimental and it does not work, crashes a few seconds after starting.
Attaching the logs in this thread, could anyone help me pls ty!

Game Log: IMPORTANT: Logs are disabled. Enable verbose logs in Game's settings > Advanced tab > 'Enable verbose logs' before reporting an issue.

delete your prefix folder on your disk and try running with Proton-GE latest from heroic's wine manager

im having some trouble deletingh the prefix folder
running this on the console doesnt seem to find any existent file ~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/pfx/
The file or folder /home/deck/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/pfx does not exist.
Ok i managed to delete the prefix and running now with proton ge 10.4

That isnt where it is.. yeah its just by default in ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes

(if you changed the prefix location this is extremely wrong, use the defaults that heroic sets.)
i did not say alter the prefix location
just to delete the folder, and retry with latest GE Proton
heroic will properly regenerate this folder

Its funny bcs with overcooked 1 (epic games) runs w no probs but overcooked 2 (gog) has issues

looks like it works fine on my steam deck too
all i have set is latest heroic latest prton ge installed the gog version of the game, hit play, ran fine
make sure your system is up to date

no most of the time you should run games in desktop mode first just in case they open a browser or other related thing
are you on steam os beta?
i have my deck set to the beta channel
maybe worth trying
did you disable shadercache on your steam deck?
if you did, re-enable it.. there are some issues that occur if you disable it last i checked

in game mode: Steam menu -> system -> Beta Participation
it updates more frequently but i've not really had issue with it. but maybe there's a beta fix that lets me play

Game works out of the box for me from gog and egs
So im not sure there is an issue with the game. More likely an issue with your system

as of now, the game opens, runs the loading screen for about a second, then a pop up opens up with a loading bar

update your GE-proton version, I think the game requires the EOS overlay and I think it's broken in older protons since the last update

so:
- check in settings > advanced (global settings, not game settings) if there's an update for the EOS overlay
- make sure it's enabled for the game (game page > 3-dots menu > enable EOS overlay)
- make sure you are using the newest GE proton (I think it's 10-4)

didn't know you had to be on the main page of the game, was just openning the quick settings menu

no need to reboot, try deleting this folder so it gets recreated

maybe you can try a non-flatpak version of heroic and see if that makes it work, I don't know

usb around the lines of the exception, I wonder... do you have any USB device connected? I wonder if that's causing any issue

hey just thought i'd offer that I've had success with the Gog version using GE-Proton 7.55
other versions of GE-Proton just wouldn't work for me

also tried another Dead by Daylight to see if it worked and it did
It opened up fine and was able to play

I just tried with GE-Proton 10.4 on my Steam Deck and it crashes, nothing out of the ordinary with my set up. I can only get it to work with GE-Proton 7.55.

Yeah I just checked ProtonUp-Qt and you can get it plus older versions. Not sure what you use but that's an option to get other Proton and GE-Proton versions.

Runs on my steam deck with proton ge latest no issues. Didnt even have to do anything special. Ran and installed without issue

yeah it can be hit or miss. i don't' have anything out of the ordinary on my deck (not using Heroic btw) and this is the only way for me to get it to work. we've had this issue before, for example, where GE-Proton 9.20 worked on one deck for a game and the exact same set up on another deck it wouldn't work for the same game.
i'm just trying to offer some ideas as i have the exact same issue as the OP and this user when trying with other versions of Proton.

I run a pretty stock deck, but I use the beta channel. I generally dont have any devices attached either but the dock sometimes.
So sounds to me that maybe some devices or certain settings interefere

I'm on the Stable Channel. I have Heroic installed (but I don't use it), I have ProtonUp-Qt and Decky. I don't have any devices attached and I use the stable channel.
For example, we had an issue with Fall Guys a while back. Out of the three Steam decks we have had Fall Guys failed with GE-9.20 on two decks and work perfect on the third. For what it's worth Fall Guys also failed on GE-Proton 9.20 on a Arch laptop. One of the decks that Fall Guys failed on, was a completely fresh install of SteamOS.
