Bulb ke accross potential difference dono cases mein same hona chahiye I guess Ye case lagane se hoega ye sawaal
nori
nori•3mo ago
switch band karne ke baad the unmarked resistance will be in parallel with the neeche ka 90 ohm.

you have to equate the current passing through R in both cases
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
but how do u know its in series with 180 and not 90
nori
nori•3mo ago
by writing the potentials

nori
nori•3mo ago
by checking the potential diff u know that the bulb is in parallel with the 90 ohm resistor, so it'll ofc have to be in series with 180 and not 90
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
i meant the other 90
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
these are in parallel after switch closing fs

but this red part equivalent is now in series with blue or green

with green. see just imagine you pulled out the top part (middle wala wire with bulb) you join it to the end of 90 cuz it's in parallel with that there's no way way u can simplify it to become parallel by getting it in series with the other 90 it;s like imagine if there were no bulb at all and no wire in the middle then 180 and AB wala 90 would be in series so if the bulb is in parallel with 90, it'll be in series with 180 and not the other 90 does this help? @hardcoreisdead

Equate hi nahi ho rhe

@ns current distribution mein galti hai kya
nori
nori•3mo ago
yeah, i was having a tough time calculating too, couldnt get the ans there may be some mistake i found the soln to this q this q is there in pathfinder (byu 31)
nori
nori•3mo ago
you can check the pdf soln on this one.. they've used KCL to solve it

this actually makes sense and gives the right ans too but i cant fig out error in my soln

CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
mere mein galti mili? @ns
nori
nori•3mo ago
yeah i dont know what the mistake is wait ill check once
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
galti nahi mil rhi 😭
nori
nori•3mo ago
mera bhi vahi aaya tha you got the first half right na
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
yeah initial part is completely correcg
nori
nori•3mo ago
okay youve to consider the current through the bulb right
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
yep
nori
nori•3mo ago
ig the expression you wrote is for the current that passes through neeche wala arm (means the whole thing)
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
omg right ill redo
nori
nori•3mo ago
did you use 90/90+R to split it again
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
in a bit
nori
nori•3mo ago
okay
CorrodedCoffin
CorrodedCoffinOP•3mo ago
aa gya pehle nahi kia tha ab kia aa gya thanks a lot man
