Using the ctrl shift I shortcut won't work and either will using inspect element.

Is this on one specific site or all sites?
Have you tired:
Quit and restart Chrome?
Restart your computer?
Maybe the site you are viewing has done something to prevent you from inspecting?
It is possible to prevent the shortcut from working but that shouldn't prevent you from using the view > developer > inspect option.
all sites. Also I just went into task manager on google chrome and it looks like it's rtunning but I can't see it at all
so it actually is running but I can't see it for some reason

can you end the process from task manager and try again? (just stabbing in the dark here, I have no idea)
yeah I can end the proccess and try again but nothing works
ffs
I can't find anything about this issue either ffs
@alec post your video here
like it says it's running in task manager but I can't see it at all
is it in a separate chrome window
reboot
Yes of course lmao
I don't have a separate windows open though so that isn't possible
I'm not an idiot lmao. Nothing I've tried works
You may have to reinstall chrome
Already tried that
Guess I'll do it again
Did it again and nothing
start chrome without extensions
I deleted all of them
if that's what you mean
no, it isnt
i meant to start chrome without extensions
but thats fine
try another user, on chrome
You mean different google account?
have you rebooted your PC? Tried running Chrome in safe mode? (win+r,
chrome --safe-mode
)just to be sure, can you check if you see the dev tools window when you do
alt+tab
or windows+tab
?
if you popped out the devtool panel it's possible that windows crapped itself and displays it outside of you screenyeah I straight up can't see it
yeah I've restarted it a few times
@alec launch from CLI and see if it logs anything, or find logs
in the window list shown when pressing the keybind right?
can you try with another chromium based browser ? like edge
alt-tab to it when press alt+space and then press m
practice it in another windoe
it should work, but if it doesn't it might indicate that somethign is very wrong and most likely out of your control to be fixed
yeah idk cuz it works fine in other browsers
Try these keyboard shortcuts in case you undocked it and lost it off the visible window
1. Open the dev tools with right click > inspect or Cntrl+Shift+I / Cmd+Opt+I
2. Try to toggle dock /undock
Cntrl+Shift+D /Cmd+Shift+D
3. If that doesn’t work try to maximize
Cntrl+Shift+] / Cmd+Shift+]
