Tops of Kelp

I know there's a solution to this, I've fixed it before, but I've forgotten and I can't find the solution here. The tops of kelp are solid green so it looks weird in the ocean having all this blue then green specks around. How do I make it so DH doesnt render the tops of kelp?

To add onto this, I also think it's weird how flowers render with DH as just full blocks on the surface of the grass. Can I stop that from happening too?

Non-solid blocks rendering as full blocks are by design. As for the kelp blocks, increasing vertical quality to pixel art in advanced settings may help, but be warned as that can hurt performance.

i thought there was some easy setting to change it so the water surface isnt affected by kelp blocks on it, am i remembering incorrectly?

That, I don't recall. Miki probably has more info on that, but they're probably sleeping right now.

alright sounds good i'd hate to have to use the ignore blocks thing, the ocean would look weird without kelp haha

Set blocks to ignore to non-colliding (I think this setting should still exists) Outside of that you will have to add every flower and kelp part you want to ignore to the ignored blocks CSV, IDK though if you can add specific block states to the list, you can try adding kelp either way max age, but if it won’t work you will have to decide between green kelp spots and no kelp at all
