Macro Used Due to Broken Keyboard Key
Hey Riot team,
I wanted to reach out about a recent ban I got on my Valorant account. I understand how seriously you guys take third-party software, and I respect that. But I think it’s worth explaining what happened on my end.
Basically, my “E” key broke on my keyboard, and since I couldn’t afford to replace it right away, I used a simple macro tool to remap that key to a side button on my mouse. That’s literally all it did — no rapid-fire, no movement scripts, nothing like that. Just a one-to-one key remap so I could still play the game properly.
I didn’t realize that even something that basic could trigger Vanguard or get flagged. That’s on me — I should’ve looked into it more before using it. That said, getting hit with a hardware ban for this honestly feels a bit extreme, especially since I wasn’t trying to cheat or gain an unfair edge.
I care about the game a lot and would never intentionally break the rules. If there’s any chance for a second look at my case, I’d really appreciate it. I’ll stick to official inputs from now on, and I won’t use any kind of remapping software again.

Why would you need a macro to map a key?
You can simply change the key for a util or whatever you use E for to a side button?
Yes that is true
But I needed it not only in valorant but also for typing so remapping it completely would help me solve both problems
I'm going to be completely honest and genuine cause I'm looking to get unbanned on the game I've spent hours on.
I did use another account after getting banned cause I was doing so good that day and I also disabled the third-party program, I played ranked on that and because the account was unranked I think it got placed on iron-bronze lobbies so I did too good.
And after that game I got HW banned.
Would love to know any steps I could take to revoke the hw ban.
Can't get a new pc just to play val on it.
you were banned for cheating, not some "remapping" software
Cheating of what kind exactly thats what I'm trying to understand.
I know my pc and I'm 100% sure there was no cheats on it except the third party software for macros and remapping keys
The third party software doesn't interfere with riot servers nor the game files.
And even that I'm accepting punishment, but the fact that riot does not allow any third party apps (which I wasn't aware of)
But hw ban is truly a very restrict punishment for someone like me who has spent alot of time on the game.
I'm accepting punishment but a punishment that is permanent is truly too much.
Hwid bans last for about 4 months, not permanent.
But the account on the other hand does indeed remain banned permanently.
4 months is still a long time man..
So there is truly nothing that could be done?
Well thank you Riot team for not explaining anything in the game ban in the ticket and now in the discord.
I tried my best to stay positive and look forward for a support but I guess this is just Riot way of doing things.

The amount of value I've felt as playing this game for over 3 years is truly astonishing.
I've explained you were banned for cheating, I understand you are upset you lost your account but cheating has consequences in valorant
Brother, jumino just checked your account and said its cheating software, although if i were you i'd check in with riot support themselves yk?
they could also really help and review the ban issued on your account.
This is a community help thread on discord, we couldnt really explain anything, you've been given more information than the support team did i suppose, but since this is a cheating ban there is nothing we can do about it.
