As for this ques try partial differentiation
Idt there is any need for that here.
We see that $\frac{f(x+y)}{x+y}=\frac{f(x)}{x} \cdot \frac{f(y)}{y}$ Call $\frac{f(a)}{a}=g(a)$, then $g(x+y)=g(x) \cdot g(y)$ which results to $g(x)=e^{cx}$ and hence $f(x)=xe^{cx}$. On plugging the value of x=1, we get c=1. So the required f(x)=$x(e)^{x}$
