@Enamine remember this question the answer key ....

Whatttt Ohhhhh I guess we did some shit that we shouldn't have

Isiliye draw karke better hota hai
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
ab to mai isme aur confuse ho gyi hu

Ruko what? It has formed the 3 membered nitrogen vaali ring Ohkay But usse alkaline hydrolysis ka rate badh kaise gaya? Ahmm aight I see Oii @Sephrina you here right?

yss was posting another

Yeah so dekho The thing is That first attack From nitrogen to kick out chlorine That's intramolecular right? It would happen regardless if there is a base or not
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
wait but why
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Or whatever.... A nucleophile 'cause we have a lone pair on the nitrogen A leaving group on just one carbon apart
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
to cl ki electronegativity usko le legi the extra lone pair?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Yeah 3 membered rings are unstable agreed That's why the molecule is shown to be in the open form
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
mtlab to irl me ye molecule in 2 state me juggle karega? form sorry not state
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Cl is acting as a mere leaving group Uska size and electronegativity both allow it to be a good leaving group Feel like there is an equilibrium between the two The open form and the 3 membered ring form 'cause it's too strained
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
hn to mtlab uska electron wanting factor will take that extra e right?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
The reaction would come back too
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
3 membered yh very much
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Yeah making a Cl- is favourable So basically there is this equilibrium Jisme dono forms hain
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
uh huh okk
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
So half of it is say open Half of it is that 3 membered ring Jabki carbon ke case me It's just the open
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
hn
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Now.... Where we went wrong was Ki agar nitrogen ki ring ban gayi To hydrolysis would be inhibited Jabki actually it would be favoured
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
why though
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
We said ki alkaline hydrolysis matlab Cl ko nikaal ke OH ka lagna Jabki more precisely It's actually OH- ka attack
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
hn
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
That's alkaline hydrolysis Ab usme OH- ko attack karne ke liye more reactive species kiske case me mil rahi hai?
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
uh ye sn1 lega?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
SN2
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
without n?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Primary Carbon strong nucleophile N vaale case me kya hai? 3 membered ring! Carbon vaale case me kya hai
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
oh hnn
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Bas open form
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
hn
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Open form is common to both So not much of a difference But ring vaali more reactive form bas nitrogen ke paas hai To uska hydrolysis jaldi hoga Sorry mai tab neend me tha jab last time bataya
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
ring wali more reactive hogi?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Just realised this Ring is strained right?
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
koi nhi koi nhi
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora•3mo ago
Open chain isn't I'll summarise all of this to you Draw karke bhejta
Sephrina
SephrinaOP•3mo ago
