again this halo with cyanide

redoing this question i realised ki isme methyl shift ho sakta hai to make it 2 degree carbocation and that is more stable but it doesnt happen, why?

Ek second I just read your question Dekho it’s easy to explain Hear me out

ok

Methyl shift se stability aayegi due to hyperconjugation But jab Br nikal jaaye Tab stability aayegi directly through Oxygen ke lone pairs From OCH3 They’ll directly coordinate to the positively charged carbocation
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
och3 more stable than 2 degree?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Dekho ek baat batayo Agar kisi atom ke paas lone pairs hain Or uske just saath ek aisa atom attached hai Jispe positive charge hai What do you think is the most logical result? Of such a situation
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
ofc vo add hoga
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Yeah exactly!
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
kyunki +ve , -ve stable out
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
And that would technically end the cation That would be neutral then
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
hn
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
To tertiary cation better ya neutral? Jisko sidha oxygen apna lone pair de raha hai!
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
for reaction?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Nahi stability pooch raha
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
stablity to neutral
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Reaction to Har stage pe stability ki or jaati hai na Exactly To vo form hoga Rather than a methyl shift
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
ok kinda got it

And for the whole mechanism Victor sahab ki khud ki likhi hui bhej deta hun

Varun_Arora3mo ago
Isme kuch na samajh aaye to poochna
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
hn matlab ki is particular me mai keh sakti hu ki uh oxygen rather prefer karega uske bgl vale c me double ho uske sath, than it being a cation right?
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Yeah you can It is like friedel crafts acylation Have you studied that? Usme bhi same isi tarah ka cation banta hai We call it acylium cation Here it’s not exactly acylium But kind of vaisa hi kuch hai
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
foggy hai par yaad hai arene me acetyl add kiya tha ok okkk
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Haan uski mechanism…..
Sephrina
SephrinaOP3mo ago
maine mech nhi dekha tha uska
Varun_Arora
Varun_Arora3mo ago
Vo dekhogi to you’ll get a lot more idea about this Bohot similar hai
