Rotate a Photo and Save it at Same Place.
How do I rotate a photo? And save it exactly where it was taken. Currently, after rotating, it says "save to gallery" and this brings the rotated photo back to the top.

Its a very importend Basic function. Wirhout Immich cant normal used. Its very basic. Please implement this . I have Lots of images in my hollyday and all See this Images witch 90degree fail. :-<
Yeah i second this.
PRs are welcome to add the functionality 🙂
@PaulOldenburg I'm wondering: if the photos need rotation, then probably the camera did not embed Orientation EXIF tag into the photo. Is this your case?
Would you mind sharing one of such files or just its metadata -
exiftool file.jpg
I often take photos of something on the table. And I usually have to hold the rotation just right once.
Sometimes the horizontal lock is also in. So the photo does not know how they were made.
I often have to rotate photos. But that doesn't work. Neither in the iOS app nor in the browser on the website.
I have an iPhone 13 mini. Here is such a photo.
Thank you for helping me.

Ahh, I see, thanks for the explanation.
So yeah, we need to enhance rotation as discussed in feature request https://github.com/immich-app/immich/discussions/1695
This is super important and a basic requirement. Without it, no nromalo would use it. Because it destroys the albums. Who wants to have photo albums from their vacation with such twisted pictures in them?
And I still think that the AI could recognize whether the picture is the right way round. (Angle lines, logic help) it could then suggest or simply do it itself.
I think plenty of people use immich with out this feature still. Either way as I said above I'm sure a PR with the functionality would be welcome 🙂
