Performance issues in gaming mode vs desktop
Howdy all. I'm very new to Bazzite (and Linux in general), but I've been trying and failing to figure this out for hours now.
I have a Beelink mini PC:
-AMD Ryzen 5 5650U
-Integrated graphics
-8gb DDR4
I tried installing SteamOS, but was running into performance issues, just low FPS. I then tried Bazzite (new download of bazzite-deck-stable-amd64). With Bazzite in gaming mode, I get the same performance issues. But in desktop mode, I'm consistently getting 10-20 more FPS. I prefer the gaming mode experience, so I've been trying to puzzle out why this is happening.
-Same graphics settings
-Same resolution, both in-game and in the gaming mode Steam settings
-Tried messing with SimpleDeckyTDP, no changes
Been doing some reading, trying to find similar issues, and just haven't been able to find anything definitive. If it's just a quirk of the platform or some weird interaction with my system, that's fine, but I'd really appreciate any help with trying to figure out any steps I can take to improve performance! The fact that the performance is almost the same in SteamOS and Bazzite gaming mode is a bit discouraging, but I'm hoping that there's some setting I just haven't found yet.
