How to style jeans on this outfit?
Below this thread, I will forward my waywt from this afternoon. I would like opinions on how I could style my jeans differently as I don't like the breaks on them.

Hi @dekema-the-rower! The best way to get a good answer is to ask a great question.
Please consider including:
- Reference pictures of things you like or are looking for. The more the better!
- Pictures of you wearing things if you have fit questions.
- A specific budget in numbers. “Affordable" means different things to different people.
- Specific measurements: Chest and waist are far more useful than height and weight.
- Measurements of your favourite fitting clothing. Learning these measurements will go a long way in helping you shop online and secondhand!
- Whether you're happy to buy secondhand.
- Whether you prefer to buy in person or are open to shopping online.
- Your vague location, especially if that limits your options because of customs or access to stores. A country or continent is helpful.
- Timescales: Do you need something urgently, or can you wait for the right thing at the right price?
Also, please use the search function to see if a similar question has already been asked!
For me it's either cuff them or get them hemmed to break where you want them to
In my mind, if you are looking for more variety out of the same pieces the only options are to change where the lines are. Cuffing/hemming the jeans, tucking the shirt, wearing the pants higher/lower, even rolling up your sleeves would all change how this simple outfit comes across. But soups suggestion is best
if you want to wear them now but not obviously cuffed, you can try cuffing it inward. it looks a little goofy if people notice but ive done it before
(mostly bc i have to find a tailor to get my jeans hemmed at)
@scott @Soup I almost wonder if I should buy jeans an inch or two shorter? These are 33x34 (I typically wear 32x34)
You can cuff the leg to where you want the hem to be and then measure the inseam to see what length you could go for instead
Yeah when I want no break I buy 30 inseam and go for 32+ when I want a break or pooling/stacking
But as said you can cuff and measure
tag sizing is not reliable. You need to measure the waist rise, inseam, and leg opening or look at a size chart
So instead of trying everything on, I can just bring a tape measure to the store?
try everything on always. But also measure for future reference (essential for online purchases)
@dekema-the-rower btw if kinda short like (i cannot rly tell in the photo) u can get rly short 28L jeans on amazon
@dekema-the-rower id also style by adding a brown belt also red doesnt look great with blue jeans. try neutral color + blue jeans.
do a graphic shirt so the t doesn't look too plain
this is bad advice from Fiat
all of it
dang i guess this subreddit doesn't like me
just my personal style lol
which part
the short part? yea u can alter already existing pants instead of buying mid jeans for short ppl
just costs more and i dont know if hes short or not by the photo
we aren’t affiliated w the subreddit!
in general buying jeans off amazon isn’t super recommended because of the intersection of price and quality - ability to return is good but if you know the measurements of jeans you like (not the tag size but actual waist, rise, inseam, leg opening that you measure yourself) you can probably find better stuff secondhand
wrt length, hemming (yourself, by a tailor or with scissors) or cuffing is always an options - more pants used to just come in 36”+ inseam for that reason
i disagree that red doesn’t go with blue jeans - blue jeans are among the most versatile single items of clothing in existence

another instance of red looking good w blue jeans by @divineeprovidence on ig

six more examples of (mostly) jeans and a red top looking good

belt is not a bad call
working w different proportions in either the top or bottom (boxier or more cropped or longer shirt, wider or more cropped jeans for some examples) would do well
neutrals are not a bad recommendation but flat out against “red top bad w blue jeans” is prescriptive advice which we try to avoid in addition to just being wrong
graphic tees and prints are not necessary to make a fit better styled, the bigger problem w this t jeans shoes is that nothing about them is particularly exciting on their own and none of it “feels” “styled”
some users in this discord styling without any particularly individually exciting pieces or graphics + i think we have a good contingent of users you can search for pics in in waywt for inspo of just making a tank or t look good by doing a search for

for dekema specifically i would just say look at what art does and try to copy that for like 6 months
that would solve like 90% of the questions we get in this server honestly
It worked for me. I spent my first bit of time in this server trying to copy art, digs or jawn and ended up with something my own that is similar to them but not an exact copy
I'm 5'10" with a relatively short torso
Hahaha I'll take a look
OP stated he typically wore 32x34 jeans and the ones pictured were 33x34; that does not look like six inches worth of stacking in the picture
also i spent a decent amount copying art, charlie and gsh, trying on fits and asking for feedback, eventually recognizing my tastes differed from theirs, and then leaning into those differences more.
