Close chunks around the player not rendering

Hey, I'm watching a french SMP where they play on a modpack that has DH and i keep seeing this ugly thing on video being some chunks not rendering really closely around the player (see pictures) and was wondering what could cause that so I can tell those streamers the solution to fix it to have beautiful streams and youtube videos please 🙂 Someone suggested that it happens only in first time loaded area which isn't the case as the pictures I sent here are from someone who was building in the same area for hours (you can see roads he built on the minimap). Here's the video I took the screenshot from (if it could help you contextualize on when it happens) : https://youtu.be/0mxtlv30juc?t=406 Infos about the server that could help : - They're around 50 players - They possibly have a really good server because the CEO of the server providing company is an old friend that was playing that SMP years ago. - I saw that bug on multiple POVs (from different streamers) - version : 1.21.1 - ModLoader : NeoForge Modpack :https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/holycube-revolution Thanks 👍 Please ping me if any answer (because I have alot of discord servers, so without ping I could forget that I posted here 😄 )

They should install c2me on the server and make sure their clients render distance is the same as the servers That happens when chunk loading is not quick enough to catch up to the person moving

Alright I will tell them, thanks 👍 🙂

Q: There are holes at the edge of vanilla Render Distance, especially during movement A: This is caused by either vanilla terrain not loading in fast enough, or shader's incorrect overdraw prevention implementation or configuration (if you use one) Some world gen speed improvement can be found when adding these three mods, but the affect will be minor: - Noisium - Faster Random - C2ME (DH 2.3.0+) The easiest fix is to move slower and/or ignore it. This hole is most visible while moving over not generated (by vanilla) terrain. Moving over that terrain every subsequent time may not create the hole. And moving slower will give MC more time to load the chunks as you go. If none of that helped, you can also tune the overdraw prevention, look at the third section to know how. Q: There are low quality full blocks behind and around non-full block, e.g. fences or ladders A: This is intended behavior, to prevent holes in the world while you move, DH will overlap with some part of the vanilla terrain. How much of the terrain is covered is determined by the overdraw prevention: 1.0 will mean DH LODs start where vanilla chunks end. 0.1 will mean that DH render very close to the players position. 0.0 sets it on auto mode. To fix this, you can either: Increase your vanilla RD, which will move the DH LODs further from you. Tune the Overdraw Prevention setting, see the next section to know how. Q: Where do I edit the overdraw prevention setting? A: Overdraw prevention setting can be edited inside the DH config under: Advanced > Graphics > Culling BUT: if you use shaders, they will influence overdraw prevention. The effectiveness of overdraw prevention depends on the shader’s internal settings, which may or may not be adjustable. However, the shader’s overdraw prevention will always operate within the limits set by DH’s overdraw prevention. To avoid conflicts, ensure that DH’s overdraw prevention is not set too high.

Well I talked to some people on the server and start getting bashed with weak arguments like : - "don't you think the modpack creator already thought about that solution ?..." - "the server is already lagging enough, they won't add more mods..." - "the problem is happenig because of teleportation between bases which are far away..." - "server will get instable if they install that mod on the server to fix that..." - "the server is at its maximum physical capacity..." - "LOL what the heck are these suggestions, Distant Horizons or not, we're the ones who decide" So its looks like when you try to help, you get disrespect in return 😤

we're the ones who decide
Sounds like a "fun" user to deal with. :cou:

he's not just a "user", he's a "streamer" 😤 Do you believe the server is at its maximum physical capacity and server will get instable if they install that / more mods on the server part ? It seems really sus as an explaination. Like I don't get how that's possible and how installing a mod would affect that 🤔

What is the spec on the server? If it has any more than 4 thread/cores and they don't have C2ME installed, they're missing out on great performance boost provided by C2ME.
Diversity [PING ME]
I have no clue as the ones I spoke to aren't the one who are handling the server but just some random dudes and streamer friend of the guy who's in charge of the server but from what they say, they have the best specs that are currently available
