✅ More powerful Hot Reload for C# / .NET

Hi all, I am looking for a more powerful Hot Reload for C# that is more similar to JRebel for Java. I posted this question on StackExchange here https://softwarerecs.stackexchange.com/questions/93415/more-powerful-hot-reload-for-c-net

Far as I know, there are three ways to hot reload .NET code:

dotnet watchdotnet watch
Whatever VS uses, which seems to be dotnet watchdotnet watch with some extra stuff
Whatever Rider uses

hi @TeBeCo my question is basically... is there a commercial or open source product that would let me enhance the hot reload functionality of C#. For example, I would like to be able to rename things and delete things while the application is running.

Just as I imagine there are Java developers who have never heard of HotReloadAgent and JRebel, I was hoping that there was something out there that my Googling has failed to uncover. Possibly even something that is a personal passion project that someone has written

The Java/JVM has similar issues to C#/CLR in those core products. Products like JRebel work around those issues to extend the functionality. Have you ever worked with JRebel? Are you familiar with how it is implemented?

You have to take into account that hot reload in .NET is a fairly new thing

Not only that, it was a whole battle to have Microsoft release it outside of Visual Studio

I didn't realize that the Hot Reload in Rider was not built using the Hot Reload of VS. I wonder how they managed to implement it and how it is different, what features it might support that VS doesn't, etc

I have thought about raising issues. In fact, I think I have even seen this issue already opened in an official .NET repo from quite a while ago, its just that it never got implemented. When people respond like TeBeCo it makes me think that either not enough other people want these types of features or perhaps they are not even aware that they are possible
