legion go user same issues i have a identical z1 extreme cpu as the ally x i also have 16gb of ram which is shared with the gpu using the auto vram allocation
okay I need check the vram when i install bazzite for the 3rd time lmao
i just started a game and went into a lockup my music began stuttering everything else locked up
ive not now disabled vram auto allocation and set it to 4gb
now disabled !
will update if its still broke
will update a few days later if its fixed
Okay
I've changed the Vram Settings In Bios
To 6GB
im at 4gb (its a personal choice) so far its looking stable but that just means i havnt found a way to crash it
I don't get this I've done something different right
I've installed bazzite on the original Ally Completely installed It wiped Windows off and It runs smooth I have not yet had a freeze up or a crash on me
im thinking auto vram (uma) was the issue
I don't know If I touched Vram
i had anouther lockup took a while to get there and i was multi tasking heavily
but lockup i did!!!
i had a widget running on the second monitor reporting ram usage and at the time of the crash am usage was at 11.1gb of 11.4gb
it would appear the system will lockup when ram is maxed and struggles too offload excess ram usage
The Ally X crashes and freezes for me but the Orginal Ally Is fine
im back!!!!
i cant guarentee this is the right rix HOWEVER i havnt had a crash or lockup in several days no no matter what games im playing how many tabs i have open or what
but ive found that setting zram to use 100% of the ram has made crashes go away

How much vram did you have on bios
4gb but i still got crashes
Zram compression in bazzite seemed to be the more stable fix
i will be trying turning vram back to auto later
Right okay
