Think like this: If we send the x^m to denominator we get x^m+1/x^m the results for which is known. Similar for y^n. To maximize the fraction we have to minimize this denominator. Since we know $a+\frac{1}{a}$ acquires a minimum for 2, The minimum value for the fraction is $\frac{1}{4}$
