Low FPS with Nightly Mod – System Not Fully Utilized
I'm running Minecraft with the Nightly version of the Distant Horizons mod on Lunar Client, and I'm experiencing low performance — around 40 FPS average — despite having decent hardware.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070
RAM: 16 GB (8–9 GB free at launch)
Even with heavy rendering, CPU and GPU usage stay very low (CPU ~18%, GPU ~55%), and RAM usage is around 11–12 GB. Minecraft is not fully utilizing my hardware. I’ve allocated 8 GB to Minecraft via the launcher.
Is there anything I should configure for Nightly to use more resources, or is this a known limitation?
Thanks!
note: shader used is itterationT 3.2.0, server: Wynncraft

Hacked clients, PVP clients, optimization clients, etc. are problematic for multiple reasons, particularly when it comes to mod compatibility. You may run into issues like rendering glitches or crashes due to their built-in modifications to Minecraft. They are unsupported by Distant Horizons and are not recommended. Instead, we recommend using a launcher that does not modify Minecraft itself, such as Prism Launcher, Modrinth App, or even the vanilla launcher from Mojang. You can read more about good and bad launchers at Sodium's Github.

A Minecraft mod designed to improve frame rates and reduce micro-stutter - CaffeineMC/sodium
Lunar client is not supported, DH can break at any moment and issues (including performance) can occur
Also IterationT is an illegal shader that breaks rule no.5 from #rules
So you won’t recover any help no matter the launcher/client
oh sorry didnt know this, so that means all the shaders are illegal or by that i mean they break the rule ?
There are couple illegal shader that break the law, IterationT is one of them, I will not be advertising the other ones
This one uses stolen code and breaches multiple licenses
ooh interesting
thank u for the info
i will search more for a shader that u guys support and legal
Here is a list of legal shaders with DH support: https://gist.github.com/Steveplays28/52db568f297ded527da56dbe6deeec0e

Personally I use Bliss shader - unstable development branch for testers
Photon and Complementary + Euphoria Patches are also popular choices
alr ill check them out in modrinth app and see how it goes
