DayZ Crashes computer and returns me to lockscreen

I have been playing DayZ and it crashes randomly after about 30 minutes of playing and sends me to the lockscreen, where when I type in my password, it asks for it again, and then one more time before finally unlocking and returning to desktop like the computer just restarted. All applications closed and everything. No error messages or anything just sends to lock screen and back to desktop.

@Riv I have an AMD/AMD set up like you and had a similar experience with Legacy: Steel & Sorcery. AAA "Triple A" titles work beautifully though, like World of Warcraft and Cyberpunk 2077. Although my crash was so extreme, the PSU tripped the power protection and I have to hold the power button down to restart system!

aha. I updated to the latest Proton and my game works now without crashing. Maybe try Proton-GE?

Well. Game now doesn't completely crash out. But now it fails to load the map which is a different problem.

I played again last night and still had the same issue with GE
