I'm happy to help you troubleshoot the issue. Based on the error message "(550): 5.1.1 Address does not exist", it's possible that there's an issue with your DNS records or Email Routing configuration. To help you resolve this, I recommend checking the status of your DNS records in the Cloudflare Email Routing dashboard. You can do this by going to Email > Email Routing > Settings and looking for the Email DNS records card. If there are any issues with your DNS records, you should see an error message or a warning indicating what needs to be fixed. Additionally, you can try troubleshooting your DNS records by following the steps outlined in the Cloudflare documentation: https://developers.cloudflare.com/email-routing/troubleshooting/email-routing-dns-records/ Specifically, you can try selecting Enable Email Routing and then following the prompts to add any missing DNS records or resolve any issues that are detected. If you're still having trouble, you can also try testing your Email Routing configuration by sending an email to the custom address you set up, as described in the Cloudflare documentation: https://developers.cloudflare.com/email-routing/get-started/test-email-routing/ Make sure to send the test email from a different email account than the one you specified as the destination address, as some email providers may discard duplicate emails and prevent the test from working properly. If none of these steps resolve the issue, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you further.

in email routing, email DNS records are in "configured" status and routing status is "Enabled". for testing, i'm using my gmail account to send email to the custom address. however, i don't receive anything in my ionos mail .

Are you trying to forward to your own domain? Like something@example.com to ionos-inbox@example.com?

yes

That doesn't work. You can either use email routing or your ionos mail, not both.

you mean the domain names must be different ?

Yes. If you enable email routing for your domain, Ionos will no longer work for your domain. You can only have one mail provider that receives email for a domain.
