Save game cloud sync between EGS via Heroic and stand-alone
Hi,
I'm currently playing Atom Eve in EGS via Heroic and have done a savegame upload.
Today I wanted to continue via standalone EGS on my Windows PC and my save games weren't there.
Am I expecting something wrong or do I have to tweak something to get it synced?
In heroic I pointed to the path to the savegames from pcgamingwiki and it seemed to upload correctly.
Thanks.

The save path in PCGW is not correct. The path should be
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Skybound\atom-eve-game-client
(replacing <username>
with your actual username of course)like-goldOP•2mo ago
Ok, but the game creates a save game file in the directory mentioned in PCGW. This is coming from the game. How do I point my deck and the EGS client in the same direction?
The path above is the path the Epic Games Launcher will sync from/to, so you can't just use something else on Heroic. If the game doesn't actually save in that folder, that's a misconfiguration by the game publisher
For Steam Deck (or non-Windows in general), your
C:
drive is in your Wineprefix. Your Wineprefix, by default, is in ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/
and will have a game-specific name (InvinciblePresentsAtomEve
or similar; I don't remember the exact name generation code right now). The C:
drive is in the "drive_c" subfolder in therelike-goldOP•2mo ago
Ah, got it. Thanks for clarification. I will check this out.
Edit: the game saves to the path PCGW states. So it's technically correct but the wrong path for EGS. Glad I can point Heroic to this wrong path and just copy-paste the save game from LocalLow on my PC to Local where the game expects the save game to be.
