alan wake does not launch wihtout giving away any errors. here is the winetricks i have found and tried to use but none of them fix the issue

Don't just install random Winetricks verbs if you don't know what they do
Delete your Wineprefix, then send a game log (with verbose logs enabled)

I actually searched up on the internet and someone said that they had fixed the issue with d3dcompiler 47 and a video on youtube said that you might need to use the windows visuals
How do i do that btw
Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton:
1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "GE-Proton" tab, and install "GE-Proton-Latest"
2. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - GE-Proton-latest"
3. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from
current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings.
Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.^^ for deleting your Wineprefix

If you really have the retail version of the game, then you need Steam to play it
If you don't (which I suspect is the case) and are instead trying to pass a pirated version off as a genuine one, we cannot help you

We've had too many people try to hide pirated games before, so sadly we have to be rather cautious. According to PCGW, the game already requires Steam to launch (even if you own the retail/CD version), so you might as well activate it on Steam & just install it through there directly
I cannot confirm whether there were DRM-free CD copies of this game sold. If you're sure you own one, please take a picture of the CD (feel free to redact any serial numbers on there, just looking for something to confirm you actually own the game)
