gta5 requires the paid version of crossover, it wont work on gptk

What would do you recommend? Raise a ticket on github to fix gptk or buying crossover? I don’t want to be bound with a subscription fee as much as possible.
I raised a similar issue earlier and it was fixed by developer.

uhhhh gptk is developed by
apple
gcenx has his own gptk binary (which heroic sources from) but its mmmmosstly just the apple gptk with some minor tweaks
i dont think he'd respond to a github issue
you can get a year of corssover for extremely cheap around black firday though if you want to wait for then

one thing to note, I've tried both GTAV and GTAV Enhanced on an mac in the last few days with the latest Crossover 25.0.1
at least for me, GTAV worked, but GTAV Enhanced didn't open saying my GPU is not compatible with DX12 (even though I'm on a 2025 Macbook Pro M4 Max)

yeah gta5 enhanced doesnt work at all, why is completely beyond me
same thing happens with that jurassic world game that was free on epic around a momnth ago

I mention this to clarify the expectation for the OP before spending any money, enhanced won't work currently (maybe they fix it in a future release, but who knows)
yeah, I've seen some games complaining my GPU does not support DX12 even when using GPTK3.0 or the latest Crossover, I guess maybe games don't understand the Apple Silicon GPU and get confused? I don't know

sorry, I don't remember exactly, I tested over 270 games in like... 4 days, it's all mixed in my brain haha, I only remember GTAV enhanced in concrete because it's one I wanted to test, but I think I've seen a similar message at some point over the whole process

GTA Enhanced did work on a specific version of the game. so i can see it working again some day.

GTA V is working with Heroic.
GTA V enhanced, however as mentioned above is facing issues with DX12. So I uninstalled it and installed non-enhanced version.
I think there should be a warning or disclaimer message if other wine config are selected (like gptk) that it may not work, since I forgot how Heroic works (as I am coming back to this after long time). This is still very popular game and newbies would appreciate if guide is provided or warnings/disclaimesr, if its not a simple click to play and requires workarounds.

we don't want to add code specific to games inside heroic (it makes it hard to change, as it would require a new release), that's why we have the

Okay, seems reasonable to me. Will take care of this. Thank you for your time, GTA V however works now with Crossover so my issue is resolved for time being.
