Weird
Hold the power button
all that did was turn it off
For 40s
If that doesn't fix it
Oof
Hi, I had the same issue with the shoulder buttons. For me installing the test / development version of handheld daemon fixed the issue temporarily. I could even control the LED lights and it seems that TDP control is also working. https://github.com/hhd-dev/hhd?tab=readme-ov-file#bazzite
However, I have yet to figure out how to permanently install it so it survives a reboot (never used a fedora based distribution before).
I am also wondering whether I installed the wrong bazzite version, as it seems that handheld daemon should be preinstalled for all Non-SteamDeck handhelds.

You need to update bazzite
There are no claw improvements that are unreased currently
Thank you for the reply. I installed bazzite yesterday and it shows no updates if I select "system upgrade" in desktop mode.
Maybe I have the wrong version of bazzite?
I followed the "Download bazzite-deck Live ISO (BETA) " link to "https://download.bazzite.gg/bazzite-deck-stable-live.iso" because the MSI Claw Support says "(BETA)" on the download page.

So you installed on the a8?
Support for that is coming in the next version that's correct
No, I have the A1M Claw, the variant with the 155H Ultra 7 processor.
That support was added long ago
Ok then I wonder why my shoulder buttons do not work. Did I install the wrong version of bazzite?
I am on the latest BIOS version (E1T41IMS.10E), could this make a difference in controller support?
You installed the correct version
What's your controller firmware version
Ok, I figured it out. I missed the hint on how to enable HDD on https://docs.bazzite.gg/Handheld_and_HTPC_edition/Handheld_Wiki/Other_Handhelds/#hhd-setup-if-not-enabled-by-default-on-device
Other Handhelds - Bazzite Documentation
Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices.
Ok so we're missing a few IDs
I'll add them
Can you give me instructions on how to find the firmware version of the controller?
When you updated it the updater showed it
Anyway not the problem
Also, my claw has one issue: it was repaired at MSI and got a new mainboard. Since then the product name in BIOS says "Please change product name" instead of "MSI Claw A1M". Does bazzite use this information to find out on which system it is installed?
We use board info for this
But yes I guess the activation uses the product name
Hello, I have the A8 and none of my controller inputs are working. I tried updating to the beta and preview channel and trying the HHD setup, but no dice. Is there anything else I can try?
Switch to the testing channel
From updates
I'm not seeing that option, only stable, preview, and beta. Am I in the wrong place?
Looks like every time I switch to preview (assuming that's testing), it switches me back to beta when I restart
Use handheld daemon
I'm looking at it on desktop mode but I'm not sure what setting to change to get the controller working
Updates -> switch branch -> testing
ahhh, gotcha. Thanks!!!
omg it's fixed now. You're a lifesaver!!!
Check the tdp
We need someone to verify
In the normal steam sidebar? I see a TDP control
Either there or handheld daemon
Better handheld daemon for now
weird, now I lost controls again
TDP mode is custom 30w, tdp is set to 17 on the slider below.
After around 15 sleeps the controller might enter an invalid USB mode
i restarted but that doesn't seem to fix it
also, now neither touchscreen nor controls are working. I have to use external controller/keyboard and mouse
Hold the power button for 50s
USB issues
that fixed it. Any way I can prevent that or will I just have to wait for updates?
Unfortunately it's one of the main reasons claw is marked as beta
is it an issue that can eventually be fixed?
also, is there an issue with the power button not turning the claw a8 after it goes into suspend mode?
For the claw Intel models they turn on
Maybe there is an issue with the workaround for those
Because we disable the volume buttons
From turning it on
would it just be better if I shut it down all the way then?
