Framework 13 wont detect eGPU th3p4g3
Posted a while back on the Frame work forum, but it's happening with Bazzite as well.
I have a 12th Gen Intel Framework 13
th3p4g3 with AMD rx5700 eGPU connected via thunderbolt.
So weirdly, I can use the USB-C pass throught (ie a USB-C monitor connected to the eGPU works) but the DP or HDMI off the eGPU doesn't. The OS doesn't detect the card either. lspci shows no AMD device.
In journalctl for boot, I only see this amd reference: Jul 13 17:16:18 bazzite kernel: amdgpu 0000:81:00.0: amdgpu: Failed to retrieve enabled ppfeatures! Weirdly, it worked fine on first install for about an hour, and then the eGPU display went black and it wouldn't connect afterwards. In Fedora it's broke on kernels past 6.13, maybe I did a kernel update as well? Not sure, but uname -r returns a kernel that doesn't work in fedora either: 6.15.6-101.bazzite.fc42.x86_64 Any thoughts? https://community.frame.work/t/th3p4g3-egpu-with-amd-rx5700-doesnt-work-in-fedora-42-on-intel-framework-13/68525/2

I did some testing, and in Fedora 40 with this kernel: kernel-6.8.5-301.fc40.x86_64 it works fine. With the latest available via DNF: kernel-6.14.4-100.fc40.x86_64 Fails with a 6.13 kernel as well. Maybe I need to open a Fedora bug? It gets the same issue. I’m going to test a few other kernels and see where it fails. Maybe I’ll go thro...
