Electron gain enthalpy

How does the availability of d orbital in the chlorine leads to it's ege being greater than that of fluorine?

It's mostly the increased size isn't it? Fluorine is very small to accommodate the amount of lone pairs it has when it is F- Cl ka size is relatively larger
