Ping spiked from 40ms to 200ms in a matter of few hours. Overseas player on Mumbai server.
I’m experiencing unusually high latency (~190ms) when connecting to the Riot Games Mumbai server (IP: 162.254.199.170). This server usually gives me around 40ms from my location in Qatar. After running a traceroute, I noticed that my traffic is being routed through Europe (France) and then the United States (Atlanta) before reaching India. This indirect routing is clearly the cause of the high ping. Could you please investigate this routing issue and try to reroute traffic through a more direct path to India (via the Middle East or a regional peer)? I’ve attached the traceroute and ping results for reference

Cause riot won’t try to fix the issue (cross region)
Riot has its own network infrastructure in every region, optimised for that region. However, Valorant isn’t designed to be played cross-region, so as soon as you start playing cross-region, you leave Riot’s optimised network infrastructure (Riotdirect) and use some random network infrastructure that won’t be optimised for gaming. (this is very simplified). So thats why you can play but it will be unstable.

ExitLag is essentially a VPN designed to optimize routing, not just mask your IP like traditional VPNs. However, if you're still playing cross-region in valorant which doesn't support cross-region play, the VPN might maybe improve your routing to an extent, but most likely it won’t completely eliminate the latency. (super ish)
