How to reduce excess heel slippage
Hey folks. New-to-me pair of cowboy boots turned up today, they’re great and I absolutely love them. Slight problem being they’re a smidge too wide (turns out they’re an E width not a D).
I’ve put some insoles in which has reduced the issue for the most part, but there still seems to be some more heel slippage than I’d normally expect (and they squeak a bit oddly).
Just wondering if anyone has any fixes for this? if need be I can return them but would rather not as I like them an awful lot. No real budget but hoping for quicker fixes and hoping for ones that are either reversible enough that I can return the boots if they don’t work out, or generally sure fire enough that it’ll be more likely to work than not.

You can stick some heel pads inside the boots to better hold them in place
might be a bit obvious but, as someone who often struggles with this due to my dumb narrow feet, I’d try wearing them with thick athletic socks.
Yeahhhh I always wear decently thick socks with boots. Will give heel pads a try, can’t lie never heard of em before. Any ones you’d recommend in particular?
I usually just pick them up from the drugstore if I end up using them
No specific recommendations, just be aware that they might need to be replaced since the adhesive can lose its grip over time
Fab, cheers. Will bear that in mind
Any cheap one, there's silicone ones and moleskin, both should work
Perfect, thanks
