Chromium based apps "freeze" when playing certain games

Hi so I'm having a strange issue.. where playing a proton game (e.g palworld) causes both my browser and discord to freeze... I can still hear them and interact but the screen does not update

I Jjust ended up nuking bazzite with a different distro
