Best game recording app?
Im currently using Outplayed but its lately bugging out and not recording. I used to use NVIDIA but it also had issues recording audio. Also I had to manually edit in the registry so it can record a hour of the game.
I mostly use it to make clips for social media. So it cannot have watermarks or anything

ur moms fridge would be great
jk js use OBS thats good
Medal.tv
obs would be the best
So easy to talk behind a screen
The issue I have with OBS is that it is manual....I have to manually hit record each time.
Yeah, I read about Medal.tv .... Its one of the few that I havent tried yet. Pros and cons?
u can clip certain times like 30 seconds before u hit the hotkey to clip
and the interface is really simple
and its really easy to share clips cos all u gotta do is just copy the link and share
it gets the job done perfectly with no bullshit features that dont need to be there
I mostly need to clips to edit and post on social media
I would like to keep recording all matches
If i need to hit a hotkey...its not for me π
@arqtic
yea? I wouldn't want an app to record when I didn't want it to.
if you want to specifically clip, OBS has that feature as well named "Replay Buffer". you run replay buffer while playing and you hit a hotkey to clip a certain amount of time, which you can customize
I want to record everything: Makes it easier for VODs, sending reports to Riot, editing clips manually, etc
Again, Im not intrested in manual π I need automatic
Like I mentioned, the only reason Im switching from Outplayed is because currently it sometimes bugs out and doesnt record
Iβve used overwolf outplayed
If you record the whole match, you donβt get any watermarks
@Icarus Yeah, that what I use currently but sometimes it bugs out and doesnt record the match and/or audio is missing
Ah
Idk then, Iβve always used that and never had any issue
but like
you literally just click a button
why would you want an app that records without you specifically wanting to?
it's really not difficult to press the record button.
@Icarus Yeah for example I played today and it recorded it perfecly
@EarthasaurusRex Thats the entire point: You shouldnt click a button. Set and forget, just like Outplayed
Outplayed records the entire match and after x time or x space, it removed old recordings
I also can manually just remove old recordings
It makes it SOOOO much easier
Instead of pressing a button or remembering to press what button
Just the other day, a friend asked me if I can pass the video so he can make a clip. I pass the video and he makes the clip
With "button requirements", i couldnt do that
pressing a button to clip isn't hard, nor is just recording your whole play session and trimming out the clips you want
@EarthasaurusRex I just gave you a prime example of a scenario that pressing a button isnt ideal. Another example: 13-12. You are not even thinking about a clip. You are thinking about the strat to make it 14-12 and end the game. After that, you are not even going to remember it and/or if you go to 13-13, you will forget
That is why entire automated match recording is MUCH better
And its what I am looking for π
If only Outplayed gives that....well, thats why its used mostly I guess π
1. I've never had an issue with forgetting to clip.
2. If that's a consistent issue, you can still just record the entire game and clip it out later.
if you absolutely need a program to do everything for you, I'm pretty sure Medal has an auto clipping feature.
1. You are then playing on autopilot as Valorant requires thinking thruout the game, pre, mid and postround
2. Thats exactly what I mentioned and I do: I record the entre game, edit the clip, adding additional effects
You dont get 100K view TikTok clips just directly uploading the clip.
1. No, my mind goes "I hit a clip. better clip that"
2. Then use OBS to record the entire match. if you somehow forget to record before you start playing, maybe content creation isn't at the front of your mind.
1. Exactly. You are just running on autopilot. Thats ok
2. Maybe Im not explaining it correctly. OBS requires manual intervention: Opening the program, hitting record, etc.
Pretty sure medal doesnβt require that
dude how lazy are you that opening a program and hitting record is already too much
Once you start the game, it detects it and starts recording
My god are you dumb π Has nothing to do with laziness
@Icarus Yeah, if Medal does it, great. I would expect it to. NVIDIA does whatver you set it in the registry to, Outplayed does it too...I just wasnt sure if Medal does it.
so what's the issue with opening OBS and hitting record

you could also not answer my question
Serious question: Do you have some mental issue or maybe English isnt your first language? I dont know. Im not making fun of you or anything, just in case. Maybe I need to repeat myself again but
I thought I made it already pretty clear a few messages before talking about OBS
you only said "If it's manual, it's not for me". I don't see how manually opening OBS and hitting record is an issue. insulting me isn't educating anyone
Im not insulting you Im asking you a serious question
yeah?

Thats not a insult. Thats just stating a fact
you're not explaining how that's a con
Different things
I just posted a screenshot
you seem to be misinterpreting my question
To repeat what I said
I dont know how to make it any clearer, sorry
You're essentially saying "OBS requiring manual intervention is bad because it requires manual intervention"
Yes compared to other programs that do the same thing automatically
NVIDIA, Outplayed..
Ok? but I don't see why you couldn't just hit record in OBS and get all the customization of OBS
Again, I think you need to see the doctor to see your potential mental issues because this is like the tenth time explaining it to you: Programs do the same thing as OBS but automatically. Without any intervention. Later, you edit them correctly for social media. OBS requires manual intervention to record (which is the core of what I want)
You're fixating on the fact that you need to click a button in OBS. it is not that big of an issue.
Like I said, calling you dumb, is NOT a insult. Its just a fact because Ive stated my requirements over and over and over and you just say "it is not that big of an issue." Please seek help
There are programs that DO not require this and automatically record.
Okay with the downsides of not being as customizable. if you want a simple app, then go with Medal, but you asked for the best recording software, which is OBS
Confirmed that you have a reading disability

OBS is without a doubt the best recording software. I use it to make IT tutorials
It has its purposes
and its functions
But for what I need right now, its not the one size fits all shoe
do you really consider "game recording" and "recording" 2 different things?
My god.... π€¦ββοΈ
Just forget it dude
Drop it
alright
Thank you for your "help"
And I would seek help with your doctor. Thats up to you.
very mature of you
Telling you that you might want to seek a doctor is immature?
Whatever man
Yes

Uh-
