the game "inside" crashes, but only the gog version
hi, i own this game on gog and epic. the epic version works, but the gog version is crashing instant after starting. here's the logfile: https://0x0.st/8nyD.log

i can run it with Wine - GE - Latest
Proton seems unreliable in this case.

tried both, wine-ge, mfc140, and both together. nothing works. game still crashes after starting. epic release works fine, steam release works fine. only the gog release is buggy. maybe another one has an idea? has anyone the gog version installed and running?
ok actually if i run INSIDE.exe manually, it works. if heroic starts the game, it's crashing after 2sec...

maybe you can try disabling
comet? in settings > advanced (the general settings, not the game's settings), that's something heroic runs extra that won't run if you run the .exe manually, that could be a differencefrail-apricotOP•2mo ago
yes, this made a difference. now it works. actually it's more a workaround than a solution. should i open an issue for this?

1. I couldnt reproduce no matter what I tried
2. the possible workaround is to run comet manually to let it download its components
