Every time i load in a new world, i get this message and the chunks start loading from beginning

- Device: MacBook Air with Apple M3 - OS: macOS Sequoia 15.5 - Minecraft Version: 1.21.4 (Fabric) - Mode: Singleplayer - Mod Loader: Fabric - DH version: 2.3.4-b Singleplayer mods i have installed - Krypton - Lithium - Concurrent Chunk Management Engine - Sodium all the other mods in my mods folder are either visual or just quality of life and they do not have impact on things such as chunk loading etc. Every time a new world is loaded in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4, chunk generation restarts from zero. This causes major stuttering and high CPU usage. It occurs in singleplayer despite using optimization mods.

When joining a world DH has to load in the LODs from the disk. what preset do you have CPU Load set to?

When you create a new world DH has to generate the LODs for it every time, even it the world uses the same seed, that will use the CPU and may cause performance drops You can try reducing the DH CPU load preset

I don't get what the problem is here, dude Optimisation mods are not magic You load into a new world, so DH starts loading chunks... It is supposed to fill the radius you set (half the side of a square centered at the player, measured in chunks). There are multiple generation modes. The ones at the top of my head are: pre-existing chunks only, which generates DH lods based on existing vanilla chunks(I've found it to be quite buggy for some reason), surface, which generates the world but without features like trees or any structures(does not save vanilla chunks), features, which generates lods for everything, though not 100% accurate to vanilla chunks that would go there(does not save vanilla chunks either), and full (or internal_server in past versions), which saves both lods and vanilla chunks at the same time. Be mindful of which mode you are generating with, because you may, for example, be using full, while not needing the vanilla chunks that come with full, wasting disk space and resources like cpu and ram. In that situation, it would be wiser to use features.

1. Minimal Impact I've had the optimization mods before dh and the problem is, that i never set an radius or pre generation of chunks also never enabled

Hmm I don't think you specified that... But oh well...

When dh loads chunks, doed the Mem % go to 90 or more?

never watched it tbh i dont know what things i all did but it is not pre generating anymore, only if i turn the setting on/off before it was generating event if the renderer was off. Now another thing, shouldn't the generated LOD's get stored in a folder and they can just be seen even if i leave the world. in multiplayer that works so i thought it would work the same way in singleplayer

They are stored in .minecraft/saves/<your-save>/data/ then some distant horizons files, the same as in a server Mainly a .sqlite file, which contains the lods

so i don't know why, but if i load some chunks in my world then i rejoin and the loaded lod's arent there anymore what i thought was maybe a config thing or just that im on a mac

Does the file exist, with a high file size?

ThAnaSiS3mo ago
Oh so that much should be plenty, ig So lods are like they never existed when you enter the world??

agent_ccdOP3mo ago
yeah also in other world i try like in a creative world
ThAnaSiS
ThAnaSiS3mo ago
Does it try to generate new ones?
agent_ccd
agent_ccdOP3mo ago
well only if i go there by my selve and generate new ones
ThAnaSiS
ThAnaSiS3mo ago
That means distant generation is disabled. My question is oncenyou make new lods and leave the world so they dissapear, does the file size remain up? Or are they deleted from the sqlite file too?
agent_ccd
agent_ccdOP3mo ago
i can see real quick but i dont think they get deleted

Oh ok! Remember to update to the newest beta once it releases, since the fix will likely be there! Mac compatiblity is of a lower priority for devs that make for all 3 platforms, windows, mac and linux, so patience is key!
