What is Your Grail? - Topic of the day 7/26/25
Well, answer the question: what is your chosen grail? Clothes or non-clothes (just don't be weird) what is that thing that makes you go "this will complete me"? How close are you to obtaining it? If you'd like help in the hunt, search/make a thread in #questions-and-advice or check #fashion-discussion #brands and/or #interests for any possible leads. 👍
This topic will run for 2 days.

I honestly don't know at this point
Maybe a crazy comme or junya piece

I mean the craziest possible thing would be the other half of Andy’s suit

(I have the pants)
I keep a list with pics of everything I want in the notes app
A bit boring but something I’ve wanted for long time is a really good shearling jacket
First place out of stuff that’s reasonably achievable is one of the suits from Comme A/W 13

Then there’s this exact huge shoulder bag from Costume National in either black green or red, hoping to find one by the end of the year
I’ve seen several get sold on vestiaire and Vinted but they weren’t the right color or in good enough condition

Some crazy layered paradoxe Paris pants
A (good) girbaud pokachu padded bag (the ones that are big and square not the regulars)
Lots of things rlly
Adding to this:
Just getting my own suit made from a tailor, I’d love that ngl
Just a little century denim pants in like a really normal straight cut 🥺 👉 👈
I‘ve wanted a HeiHei suspender skirt ever since I was 15
Someday🥹

Porter classic rangefinders and a Lemaire scarf bag. The real grail is the inner peace to not want so much stuff.

Fuck that
Love things even if they are out of your reach
In a more niche sense my grail in Lolita fashion is the Angels in Stained Glass skirt by Innocent World from 2016

Without a doubt if money was no object, this would be the first thing I bought. Although with my move to rural New England on the horizon, there’s a very limited part of the year to wear a mid weight jacket anyway

its longer than you'd think these fucking days, fuck global warming
Good thing I want to turn an old barn into a studio/cottage with any money that’s ever left over from maintaining an old farmhouse
you're gonna fit right in
You get like 5 months a year I think if it’s the same weight as a normal trucker although you’re layering with it for about 2 of those
Whenever I've purchased a 'grail piece' in the past I get a temporary sense of achievement/satisfaction and then my mind turns to another grail and the cycle continues. I've learned over time both to not build up a feeling of 'if I buy jacket x all my problems will be solved' and to learn to appreciate rare/interesting pieces of clothing without feeling a need to own them myself
I don’t own it but I think the unlined version is light enough to wear normally indoors
I would sure love to find these pants to go with the shirt I have, but idk if I'd even call it a grail

I achieved getting my true blue grail recently, so this is the closest thing I'd say

The one grail story that burned itself into my brain like a decade ago is this guy who managed to track down this particular Yohji runway piece that's like a 10 ft long flannel shirt

My fashion journey right now is having all of my stuff visibly mended so eventually I’ll be living the boro dream the hard way
Stuff at the mender right now

Oh yeah that’s going to be sick
I think my grail would be to be good enough at sewing to sew my own clothing.
And some really sick hand tooled cowboy boots.
something like this but with a better heel.

I feel like the thing I'm searching for less lately is a grail and more of a feeling of fulfillment in some area of my wardrobe. I kinda feel like my wardrobe lacks elegance, and I'd like to rectify that in the next year and a half
I do have the money for it, just outside my comfort zone to own something this expensive.

Mostly basic footwear for me: some slippers, the cream suede lemaire ones or Jil sander ballerinas ideally; the mm6 anatomic boots, high or low heel; and some sort of guidi-adjacent back zips. Also really want a big Ann D shirt and lemaire envelope style bag.
Man after the past few weeks of clearing stuff out my grail is personal forgiveness and self-love
Kaptain Sunshine duffel coat will complete me.

One day I’ll own a TB skirt suit

u could literally get this today
love this
Not with this bank account I can‘t
