Cropped knitwear that’s interesting!
Any recs for interesting cropped knitwear / cardigans / vests? Been looking for something with a bit more interest in the design and fit. Since a lot of the high quality stuff (think Shetland jumpers etc) feels a little too classic or traditional.
Not really worried about budget and planning to go secondhand mostly. Going for something in the spirit of Jan-Jan Van Essche. Great silhouettes, beautiful texture, but with a little design intent behind it. I like auralee, but the length is a little too long. Ideal length would be around 24-25 inches.

If you’re looking for a little more budget friendly than JJVE, his O Project line also has nice knits
Especially proxied secondhand
Yeah I’ def have those on my radar!
Just because you mentioned them, I know auralee has done oversized cropped knitwear too
I have this one which comes in around 23 inches in length on a size 4 with an oversized fit dropped shoulders
I need to clean up some of the pilling but they make really nice knitwear

Oooooo interesting!! I need to look more into this then. Most I see online are the traditional cuts!
fwiw @boneboy4401 , the janjan knits i've handled and own aren't really cropped, they're just styled like that
you can always pin/fold up a knit to crop it too
Thanks for the heads up! That’s very helpful!
I have this which is cropped on me https://www.highsnobiety.com/en-gb/shop/product/auralee-hard-twist-wool-rib-knit-boat-neck-pullover-green/

If you ever have some time would love to know the length. Website isn’t showing it.
found this on another ebay listing, i wear size 4 as a 48/Mgarment featuring a chest width of approximately 22 inches, a length of about 21.9 inches, shoulder width of 21.9 inches, and sleeve length of 21.9 inches.
Ahhh appropriate you! 22 inch chest is a lil snug but it fits the bill when it comes to being cropped! I’ll look into that.
Sizing up on women’s jumpers might get you more options? My male friend has this in a large and it looks good. 23.5 chest, 22 length

@Pesty this jjve is what sparked me interest !

God I love this sweater
Can we get any deets ? Would love to cop!
JJVE knit #54
The fit varies quite a lot between productions. This one was cropped and boxy but I've got another one from a later season (same model, same size, different wool) that is much more slouchy (see picture)

Ahhh thats frustrating because that first pic that sweater fit is unreal!!
there is a jjve knit in a size S which looks pretty similar on ebay at the moment
maybe worth pinging them for measurements
Random question is this something a tailor can do for me ? Will this severely damage the lifespan of the sweater or the warmth factor it provides
Reduce the length of a knit? Unlikely tbh. You might find a knitter or somebody to do it but it would basically involve unravelling the bottom removing length and refinishing it. So its going to be time consuming and expensive. If you do it right its not going to damage sweater or reduce warmth apart from fact less of body is covered so less warm.
