Q. A hydrocarbon ‘A’ (C₈H₁₀) undergoes the following reactions:
1. When reacted with Br₂ in presence of FeBr₃, it gives only one monobromo product.
2. On oxidation with hot alkaline KMnO₄, it gives a single dibasic acid (B).
3. Upon catalytic hydrogenation, 3 equivalents of H₂ are consumed.
4. When A is treated with ozone followed by Zn/H₂O, it gives glyoxal (OHC−CHO) as one of the products.
👉 Identify compound A with reasoning. Also draw the structure of B.
