Bazzite installation python error while loading drives
The error appears only after some time is passed therefore I think it's related to it loading the drives
It's quite a long error massages but the window is only so small so idk how to really post it here

Are you using the default ISO or the Live ISO?
default
Solution
I would say give the Live ISO a try first
the default ISO is very outdated
hm oh guess back to downloading
I mean it said beta on the live one
default ISO works and will get you up to date after install, but Live ISO is much more recent. End result will be the same
Correct. It has certain issues still, but if you manage to get it to install, then its the same as the default ISO.
One more question: Are you dual booting on the same disk or are you installing on a separate disk?
I still have my windows drive in the pc but aign't using it cause its broken last time I used it windows took litially like 4 hours or so to boot
is on the same drive?
I was on Drauger os before but today and update broke it so I tought lets try something new
what do you mean?
I have 4 drives
HDD old windows
SSD Root
SSD Home
HDD Vault
vault is just to store lots of stuff its 16TB
I just mean are you completely wiping a disk to install bazzite?
or are you sharing the disk with other OS?
doesn't matter which disk
that was the plan (with root and home) but I didn't even get that far
Oh. Then definitely try the Live ISO
It is much more likely to boot since it has a much more recent live environment
I mean this one also boots it just spits out this error after some time I assume its trying to read my old windows drive and fails at that and instead of ignorring it just errors into my face
If the installer crashes on the live iso, the whole ISO won't shut itself down
the installer will just shut down
so you can do more stuff to try and mend it
ok its still downloading 44min
idk if thats cause my wifi is kinda spotty but the download failed and instead of continueing it restarted
guess it will be a long night 0:42
Are you using firefox?
restarting downloads seems to work fine for me
on firefox
but i have had in the past where it would just restart randomly
it worked fine earlyer too but I had to do it 2 times this time so that might have been the reason
Firefox
try using curl next time
more reliable
curl?
yeah with curl you can just do --retry if it fails
is that a browser?
no
a command
I would not know what to type
curl --retry 10 --retry-all-errors --retry-delay 5 -O https://download.bazzite.gg/bazzite-stable-live.iso
You can do this for example
just cd ~/Downloads
and then type that 😛
this will retry 10 times, retry on all errors, with a delay of 5 secondsthe file I'm currently downloading dose not have deck in it name
yeah it was just an example
if it fails again try the above
I have a question so I now selected 2 drives but I'm not really sure how I can tell it to put home on one drive and the rest on the other
is Btrfs something like raid?
Like this seems confusing to me

is /var where flatpaks are stored or why would that be its own partition? and what is the btrfs below the home partition
ah ok when I select normal paritioning in the automatic section it dose it how I would expect it to work
If you select two drives it will create an LVM. A kind of JBOD type of RAID where it creates a single volume from multiple disks.
/var is where everything is that is writable. / is not writable, /var is writable and obviously /var/home is writable
My keyboard layout settings from the setup did not save into the actual os
also I backuped my firefox from my last os but idk where to put it putting it into the profile folder dosen't work
@Zeglius
No clue why honestly?
Is this the live iso or the old one
was the live one
Mm no clue, anaconda moment I guess
My layout is E1 german
with those letter
