Using a NTFS disk with Linux and Windows
Compatibility tool for Steam Play based on Wine and additional components - ValveSoftware/Proton

does this work in epic store
xenial-black•2mo ago
Yes
Proton/Wine needs that done
Otherwise prefixes wont work/get created properly
Ofc no such need on a linux filesystem
xenial-blackOP•2mo ago
what is the correct file system
xenial-black•2mo ago
Whatever you like but most likely answer is ext4
As it is default on many distros
Some offers btrfs etc in installer as option
I use ext 4
xenial-blackOP•2mo ago
so basically any filesystem is better than ntfs
xenial-black•2mo ago
Well, define better. Ext 4 is surely faster and less painful on Linux
But if you are dual booting then you would like to keep use ntfs i assume
xenial-blackOP•2mo ago
no dual booting
xenial-black•2mo ago
Ah, then go ext 4
xenial-blackOP•2mo ago
how do i change it
xenial-black•2mo ago
You have to format the disk, which i assume you just got into Linux, just reinstall from scratch
You have nothing to lose
