Making the correct iso
Hello everyone. I join here today to install bazzite on my main pc. I’ve tried two different custom isos that I thought would work for my pc but haven’t due to failing to install flatpaks and I’ve run out of ideas. What are the options I have to select? Ill post my pc specs shortly

why do you need to use custom iso if you can use an official one?
I meant selecting the hardware when downloading
also don't download from fosstorrents, their ISOs are outdated
I saw someone with this problem before, kinda painful to make things work on broken system
I only downloaded from the bazzite site
ok, post your pc specs then
| Component | Details |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| CPU | Intel Core i7-10700 @ 2.90GHz (8 cores, 16 threads) |
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (Ampere, 12GB VRAM) |
| RAM | 64 GB DDR4 |
| Storage | 1TB HDD |
| System Type | 64-bit OS, x64-based processor
seems fine but hdd?
anyway, that's what you should choose on download section. pick gnome if you want on third option

flash the iso using fedora media writer, don't use ventoy
and probably verify checksums after you downloaded
I think my hhd is from Sandisk from what I remember
I mean I guess, but your system will be fine on ssd
I somehow dont have an ssd, only hhd
if purchasing ssd is not an option, then proceed with what you have rn
Also are you sure KDE is the correct option? I didn’t know or think that my pc was a home theater
if you have no clue how kde and gnome looks like, then see here https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/Installing_Bazzite_for_Desktop_or_Laptop_Hardware/#desktop-environments
I like the look of gnome more but still unsure of what to pick
up to you
the "default" one is kde, maybe that's what you'll want if you have no preference
Should this iso work as long as I use the fedora media writer? I have a feeling I’ll get the same error for the third time
the problem was with your downloaded iso probably, which was corrupted I think
that's why I want you to verify your download

How to calculate your Bazzite ISO SHA256 checksum hash
In this video we are going to look at how to calculate the hash of your Bazzite ISO installer file. This is important as a broken ISO file can lead to the Bazzite installer failing or even worse, Bazzite installing but then failing to start up

I checked and it looks like the sha256 hash matches
then go ahead and flash the iso using fedora media writer
Here is a screenshot anyways just to double check

yup, seems good
Alright, hopefully this works
It installed successfully this time but I don’t know if it’s loading or not to the start menu
probably because you have a slow disk
ssd is much-much faster
Then I assume I’m out of luck then
