Can’t play Civilization VI, but why?….
Hello everybody!
I’m currently experiencing an issue with Civilization VI (purchased during a free giveaway from the Epic Games Store). I installed the game through Heroic on my Mac using Wine - Whisky 2.5.0 as the Wine runner. The game installs and launches successfully — the intro video plays, and the main menu appears with the game’s title and a “Continue” button.
However, after that point, I’m stuck — clicking the “Continue” button does nothing. The cursor moves, but it’s as if the button is just a static image or non-functional UI element. I’ve already:
• Tried running in windowed mode at 1920x1080 (16:9),
• Verified that .NET dependencies and all required libraries are installed in the Wine prefix,
• Tried pressing around the button’s area — no response.
I suspect it may be an input issue (mouse/keyboard not being captured correctly), but I’d really appreciate any advice or workarounds.
Is this a known issue with this game or runner? Is there any log I could attach to help diagnose this further?
