Best Shetland Sweater on the Market
I’m looking for the absolute best Shetland on the market, price is no object. I’m hoping to find a “classic” cut, so no slim fit. I’m mainly looking at crewnecks, but I’m open to other options.

Probably Jamiesons or Drake's
Brut make a nice one thats a fuller cut
Brycelands is propably excellent too.
Likelihood is that any Shetland sweater you buy is going to have been made by either Jamieson or Harley
true
Not in every case but I think one of them makes sweaters for Howlin for example
I have been looking at the Brut one. Do you have any experience with it?
A friend has one, its a more modern cut but feels great
Batoner has also done some non traditional designs with shetland wool before
There’s no single best imo. Do you want something brushed? Do you want something really thick? Prefer a shorter length? Saddle shoulders or set in?
I like J Press’s shaggy dog for really heavy sweater and Drake’s for shorter Shetlands. Harley is also great and offers a ton of colors. I think Shetland woolen co make’s press’s but whether they are as heavy is tbd.
O’Connel’s is probably the move if you want heavy and un-brushed.
Pretty sure Jamieson used to make Drake’s but I think they switched to Harley in the last year or two but Drake’s is cut shorter than my Harley Shetlands.
