(Potentially fixed?) Weirdness after update and now black screen on boot
I decided to run the system update today, in desktop mode, let it do its thing for a good while and came back to reboot it. It froze during a splash screen, not sure what point in the process, and I had to manually shut down and reboot.
I was a bit concerned, but it opened up in gaming mode and seemed alright for a bit, then some decky things started going wierd after updating that too, or maybe already were acting up but it showed more after. SteamGridDB disappeared and wouldn't reinstall, IDK what else. Was about to try a reboot when I randomly decided to check system update again, even though it had automatically checked on boot, supposedly. At about that point (as I looked away for a few moments) decky and all it's stuff vanished, and it kept going back to the home screen after a short freeze, like it had crashed something. Tried to get into settings, tried to figure out anything, tried to get to desktop mode, nothing worked and then it just plain froze for good.
After another hard shutdown, it now "boots" to a black screen. That's it. No splash screen, no OS selection, no nothing, I don't even think I can get into the bios! For a few times it had a dash or underscore in the top left, but even that's gone now. And I'm really worried that I've somehow bricked it. π±
This is a Beelink MINI S12 Pro mini computer, N100 processor, 16GB ram, 500GB ssd. It's hooked up to my TV via HDMI and I mostly use a wireless mini keyboard/mousepad device to control it. Been running Bazzite since I got it early last year. I use this thing for so much, it's pretty much my main computer at this point. My old Mint desktop isn't even hooked up. And now I'm freaking out. :dispair: Please help!

Well, the situation has changed (and I didn't see your message until now, what is wrong with you Discord?!?). No idea why this worked, but after letting it sit for a while as I freaked out, I tried fully unplugging and replugging it. It then booted up normally and seems fine. Back to normal, Decky, SteamGridDB and all. What even? What happened, why is it fixed, and how to I keep it from going crazy again in future? I'm scared to do anymore updating. Or even rebooting.

Can you access a TTY session by pressing CTRL+ALT+F3 (or F4 or F5)?

Black screen on bazzite-deck usually means steam not booting
You can access TTY session next time and type
ujust fix-reset-steam
Glad you got it working though πThanks. I realy hope it doesn't do this again, but I guess I'll try that if it does.
It did respond to suspend/unsuspend with the power button or another controller I have, btw, doing that just didn't make any other difference. Not sure how Steam managed to make even the basic boot up splash screens from Beelink not show, doesn't seem like it should be involved yet, but Steam does some weird stuff sometimes I guess?
